Oakland市週一宣佈在全市安裝18個自動測速攝像頭。這些攝像頭將拍攝超速行駛（時速超過限速11英里及以上）車輛的車牌資訊，車主將因此收到罰單。
Oakland交通局表示，所有18個測速攝像頭2026年1月中旬安裝並啟用。最後一個攝像頭安裝完畢後，城市將啟動60天警告期，在此期間僅發出警告通知。
Oakland交通局在新聞稿中表示：「處罰預計2026年春季開始實施。罰款起步50元，對於時速超過100英里的超速駕駛者，罰款將增至最高500元。」
城市公佈了擬安裝測速攝像頭的地點清單，包括：

8.San Pablo Avenue（Athens Street和Sycamore Street之間）

10.Macarthur Boulevard（Green Acre Road和Enos Avenue之間）
11.Fruitvale Avenue（Galindo Street和Logan Street之間）
12.International Boulevard（40th Avenue和41st Avenue之間）

選擇這些地點依據撞車數據和速度研究，以及Oakland交通局所稱的「高傷亡網路」-其中8%街道占致命及嚴重交通事故的60%。
Verra Mobility受Oakland市委託管理測速攝像頭專案。
「為確保安全與隱私，攝像頭僅監控超速11英里/小時或以上的車輛，並且僅抓拍車牌圖像，」Oakland交通局寫道。「這些圖像將安全傳送至交通局進行審核確認，交通局核實違規行為，然後再向車主發出處罰通知。」
根據2023年州長Gavin Newsom簽署的Assembly Bill 645，San Francisco、Oakland、San Jose、洛杉磯、Glendale和Long Beach六座城市獲准開展自動測速試點專案。今年年初，San Francisco已經開始對攝像頭抓拍的違規駕駛者開具罰單。
