違規就要受罰，合情亦合理；但在加州違反交通規則，罰金數額有可能遠超出你的想象 — 甚至超過你的承受範圍。

你可能不知道，自去年起加州機動車駕駛管理處（DMV）修改了一系列交通違規處罰規定，不僅較以往大幅增加了各類罰金數額（有的漲幅高達數倍），還添加了一些原來並不處罰的項目，具體更改如下：

– 無證駕駛，忘記帶駕照：罰款$214（原來$35）

– 變更地址后10天內未通知DMV：罰款 $214（原來沒有處罰）

– 發生車禍時未購買保險：罰款$796，并吊銷駕照4年

– 闖紅燈：罰款$533（右轉彎紅燈不停罰金一樣，原來是這個價格的一半不到）

– 踏雙黃線：罰款$425

– 違規轉彎或掉頭：罰款$284
Making an illegal/forbidden U-turn: $284

– 超速1-15 mph：罰款$224（以前通常來說超10邁才會給罰單）

– 天黑開車時不開探照燈（超過30分鐘）：罰款$382

– 白天開車時把車身/車窗遮住：罰款$178

– 車內兒童未扣安全帶或未使用兒童座椅：罰款$436

Wearing a head set on both ears while driving: $178

– 違規使用共乘道：罰款$401
Car pool violation: $401

司機只要收到上述任何一張交通罰單，不僅要交罰金，還要去上交通安全的課程。

所以，各位駕車出行一定要注意安全，且勿違規，因為這不僅僅是罰金的問題，更是為自己和他人的生命安全負責任。
